The Sunday Times has announced its' 12 annual list of the Best Small Companies to Work For. A total of 579 firms with fewer than 250 employees registered to take part in this year’s contest, but only 100 earned a place on this list of the country’s most motivated and engaged workforces.

 

In all cases, the views of individual employees were gathered. Their responses - given on condition of guaranteed anonymity - have been used to determine the rankings in this survey.

 

The levels of workplace engagement required to make the top 100 are higher than ever, with small-company applications up by more than 25% this year. The smartest leaders in the fast-moving SME sector know that a happy and motivated workforce brings benefits to the bottom line.

 

Also available to view at http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/best100companies is the list of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For in the 250-3,500 employee range, plus the 25 Best Big Companies to Work For, with 3,500-plus in the workforce.

 

Public-sector bodies, charities and housing associations are recognised in 100 Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work For. These will appear on The Sunday Times digital versions on Sunday March 15.
