The BBC Lifeline appeal is a monthly charity appeal programme, in which a well-known personality introduces the vital work of a particular charity they care about, and appeals for donations. Our appeal will be hosted by BBC Radio 2 presenter Johnnie Walker and his wife Tiggy, a writer and producer. Johnnie and Tiggy are our patrons during our 50th Anniversary year, using their experience of caring for each other to help us reach other carers.
The appeal will also feature Norman opening up about caring for his wife, Ros, and Anne and Sue talking about their friendship and how the Carers UK forum has helped them.
BBC Lifeline has helped raise money and increase the profile of hundreds of charities across the UK and overseas and, since its inception 25 years ago, there have been more than 300 Lifeline Appeals and more than £6m has been raised for charitable causes.
The Carers UK BBC Lifeline Appeal will air on BBC1, Sunday 13 September at 4:30pm.
