In February, Norton Rose Fulbright hosted the first of our corporate EfC roll out sessions for our London-based members.
The purpose of the event was to give our clients an opportunity to discuss challenges, successes, and advice on supporting carers in the workplace and how to make more of their EfC (and Digital Resource for Carers) memberships with us.
There was a presentation from the Carers UK Business Development and Innovation team on the Employers for Carers membership, best practice for rolling out the member resources, the Digital Resource for Carers, and the Carer Confident benchmarking scheme.
After the presentation, we opened the floor to our members. We invited them to ask any general questions, or voice any queries they had about rolling out the membership resources. This facilitated some great discussions about challenges they face, and strategies they have used to overcome them.
We looked at our Digital Resource for Carers (DRC), as an increasing number of EfC member organisations are subscribing to this as part of a ‘Plus’ package membership. It is a helpful tool for carers which can be used in any place, at any time and on any device. It combines advice, information and support resources developed by Carers UK with an employer’s own links to information and support. In the challenging times we are currently facing, more working carers will be needing to access support remotely.
The event was a great success, with lots of interaction and shared best practice. We hope our members left feeling inspired and ready to go back to their organisations and do more with the service we offer.
Thank you to Norton Rose Fulbright for being a wonderful host.
