After a record-breaking number of entries, this week Working Families announced the shortlist of employers who are offering outstanding flexible and employee-friendly workplaces.
The organisations which have made it through to the shortlist in one or more of the 13 categories in Working Families’ Best Practice Awards was unveiled this week, and we are delighted to see a number of EfC members involved.
Commenting on the announcement of the shortlisted employers in the Working Families Best Practice Awards, Heléna Herklots CBE, Chief Executive of Carers UK said:
These awards are very welcome recognition of employers’ commitment to flexible working and supporting a good work/life balance. Carers UK’s growing Employers for Carers forum shares expertise in supporting working carers as well as championing the benefits for business. It’s great to see so many Employers for Carers members shortlisted for these awards and we are really pleased to see Centrica recognised in the Best for Carers & Eldercare category.
More than 3 million people are already combining a paid job with caring but, without the right support at work as well as back up from health and care services, this juggling act can be a stressful and lonely experience for many employees. Supporting carers in the workplace isn’t just the right thing to do, it makes business sense too bringing better retention of employees as well as greater wellbeing and productivity at work.
