In September, Employers for Carers hosted a virtual roll-out workshop designed to help local authorities get the most from their current Carers UK services: the Digital Resource for Carers and/or Employers for Carers membership.
The event included a guided tour of both platforms and in-depth update on the latest e-learning resources available. The team provided hints and tips on how to successfully roll out membership within each local authority area, with a focus on remote communication during a pandemic.
Our colleagues from EfC member organisation’s Lincolnshire County Council, Devon County Council and Surrey Heartlands ICS kindly provided case studies detailing their experiences delivering support to working carers. This was hugely valuable as it contextualised how the resources work in the real world and we are very grateful to those who presented and shared.
After these presentations we opened the floor to all attendees, inviting members to ask questions and share any successes and/or challenges they have faced, particularly over the last six months.
This facilitated some wonderfully insightful discussions and information sharing. The event was a great success, with lots of interaction and shared best practice.
Thank you to everyone who attended.
